Chablis Day Trip from Paris Details

Description - What's on in Chablis?

Discover the soul of Chardonnay in the heart of Burgundy. This exclusive day trip from Paris takes you deep into the vineyards of Chablis and the Auxerrois, where dedicated winemakers craft wines of remarkable purity and finesse.

While Chablis is best known for its crisp and mineral white wines, the broader Auxerrois region also includes appellations like Saint-Bris and Irancy, which bring an exciting diversity to the glass. Saint-Bris is unique for its Sauvignon-based whites, and Irancy is home to beautifully structured red wines made from Pinot Noir and the rare César grape.

While Burgundy is world-renowned for its white wines, especially its elegant Chardonnays, your tastings throughout the day will also include a fine selection of red wines typical of northern Burgundy.

Enjoy expertly guided tastings, meet passionate producers, and indulge in a traditional Burgundy lunch, thoughtfully paired with local wines. A day of unforgettable flavors and discoveries awaits.

    Morning – Prestige of Chablis

Your guide will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel for a comfortable drive to Chablis (approximately 2h30). Along the way, enjoy freshly baked croissants as you take in the picturesque countryside of northern Burgundy.

Your first stop will be at a prestigious Chablis domaine, where you will gain insight into the region’s winemaking heritage. Learn about the influence of Kimmeridgian limestone, the classification of Chablis wines (Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru), and the techniques that give these wines their signature minerality. Your first tasting of the day will set the tone for an unforgettable journey.

    Lunch – Traditional and authentic!

Before lunch, take in the spectacular views from a scenic overlook, offering a perfect vantage point to understand the region’s unique viticultural landscape.

You will then be welcomed at a family-run winery or a charming countryside restaurant for a traditional Burgundy lunch. Savor local specialties, expertly paired with a selection of regional wines, including rare gems from the Grand Auxerrois.

Afternoon – Become a wine expert

In the afternoon, you will continue your exploration of the northern Burgundy wine region with a second estate visit, offering a deeper dive into the area’s diversity.
Tour the cellars, learn about vinification and barrel aging, and taste a refined selection of wines that highlight the full spectrum of local production, from mineral-driven Chardonnays to elegant and surprising reds from nearby appellations like Irancy.

Finally, your guide will drive you back to Paris, allowing you to relax and reflect on a day filled with incredible wines and stunning landscapes. You will arrive in Central Paris in the late afternoon, carrying home the taste of Burgundy and the magic of Chablis.
