Our wine lover team has planned the perfect day for you, from the big, world famous Champagne house to a more intimate winery to the knowledge of your private guide who will share plenty of anecdotes about the region, where a very special combination of soil, climate and tradition produces the world’s most famous sparkling wine, symbol of luxury and special moments for centuries.
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Paris in the morning and will bring you succulent and buttery croissants before taking you to Champagne (approximately 1h30).
As you arrive and discover the beauty of the vineyards and the charming villages of the region, your guide will provide you with everything you need to know about Champagne, from an introduction to the production process to the history of the region.
As soon as you arrive in the vineyards, you will be struck by the beauty of the landscape and your guide will give you precious information about the history of the region, its most important characters and the process of Champagne production.
How about starting the day by visiting the cellars of one of the most famous Champagne producers, like Champagne Moët & Chandon? The local guide will show you every secret of the house, including the production and history, and walk you through those amazing cellars. Then comes one of the best parts of the visit, the tasting of their flagship cuvee commented by their sommelier.
Following the visit, your guide will show you other prestigious houses of the “Avenue de Champagne” in Epernay… You will quickly understand why this street is called like this…
You will then go to the picturesque village of Hautvillers, visit the church where Dom Pérignon worked as a cellarmaster and learn more about this mythical character (depending on our schedule).
It is now time to enjoy a well-deserved break at a boutique winery for an exquisite and local 3 course meal paired with Champagnes from the house and Ratafia Champenois, a wine liqueur from the region.
You can’t spend a day in a wine region without spending some time in the vines! There, your guide will give you plenty of information on vine growing and tell you what is so special about Champagne, and what the vine growers are currently working on… It will also be the perfect moment to take great pictures from the beautiful spot your guide has chosen for you.
To ensure you have a perfect day, we have planned a last visit, at an winery where you will be able to see all the machines used to create Champagne…and to taste several more bubbles. With this last stop, we guarantee that you will be able to talk about it like a professional!
Following this very complete and beautiful day, your guide will drive you safely back to the center of Paris in the late afternoon.
Want a well-spent day? What if you visited the Loire valley in a private tour? You will visit one of Europe’s most renowned castles, part of the Unesco world heritage, and get plenty of information about the diversity of the wines of the region.
In the morning, your guide will pick up your party at your hotel and drive you for about 2 hours heading south of Paris, towards the Loire valley, after having offered you fresh croissants.
As you enter the park of the Château de Chambord, your guide will tell you everything you should know about the history of the region.
An audioguided tour of the huge castle will reveal all the anecdotes about this impressive piece of architecture built more than 500 years ago by Francis 1st, King of France.
You will then enjoy a smooth drive following the river, during which you will see other wonderful castles such as Amboise (home of Leonardo da Vinci) or Blois, home of the kings of France during the Renaissance.
Lunch will take place at the table of a family winery where the owner will let you taste his favorite wines, paired with delicious food made with fresh produce from the region. He loves it when people ask him to visit his cellars!
Following the well deserved break, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the vineyards of Montlouis-Sur-Loire and Vouvray, home to world famous white wines. Depending on the weather, you will stop in the guide’s favourite spots, among the vines of Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc where he will share with you all the secrets of vine growing!
He will then take you to the most famous wine estates. You will visit for instance the troglodyte cellars of one producer, harboring millions of bottles… And of course, you will finish the tour by tasting a wide variety of wines, from red wines to dry; sweet and even sparkling white wines.
Your guide will then safely drive you back to your hotel, in the early evening.
