Welcome to our Champagne Day Trip from Paris!
Spend a full Champagne Day Trip from Paris drinking bubbles !
This will become your favorite activity during your stay in Paris. My Winedays offers all inclusive day tours from Paris in small groups (8 people as a maximum). You will see and taste the best of Champagne!
From transportation to visits and lunch, your English speaking and wine expert guide will take care of everything, while you relax and enjoy the Champagne region!
Join us for this exceptional Champagne Day Tour from Paris, home of the world’s most celebrated sparkling wine! We selected for you the best places to visit in Champagne, from the biggest houses, to a boutique winery, so you can enjoy all day long. Your English-speaking guide will drive you through the beautiful vineyards, and give you plenty of anecdotes about the secrets of Champagne, a place where the uniqueness of the soils combines with the climate and the expertise of the winemakers to produce the famous drink, symbol of celebration and elegance for centuries across the world.
We will pick you up at your hotel or apartment in the morning, and offer you delicious and buttery freshly baked croissants, while driving to Champagne (about 1h30).
As soon as you arrive in the vineyards, you will be struck by the beauty of the landscape as you are given precious information about the history of the region, its most important characters and the process of Champagne production.
Your day will start in style, with a guided tour through the maze of cellars of one of the biggest bubble producers, such as Champagne Moët & Chandon, Mumm, Lanson, Mercier… (depending on availability). Learn about their unique history and production, tasting their flagship cuvee with the house sommelier.
Following a short drive, depending on our schedule, discover the village of Hautvillers and its abbey, where Dom Pérignon used to work as a cellar master over 300 years ago and made Champagne. Learn more about this legendary character and about his influence on the style and reputation of the drink.
Stop by the wonderful vineyard of Champagne and enjoy a “wild tasting” conducted by your wine expert guide. Through this very unique experience and the tasting of a special cuvee, you will learn all the secrets of this famous bubbly drink.
For lunch, settle at the table of a family-run winery or a traditional restaurant, where you will enjoy a delicious Gourmet French lunch, paired perfectly with 3 different Champagnes.
Last but not least, you will stop at a cooperative winery where they created a museum of the different tools used to produce Champagne… By the end of the day, you are guaranteed to be a bubbles expert! Of course, you will taste several Champagnes there.
After all these discoveries and emotions, your guide will bring you back to Paris and drop you in Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, at around 6PM (depending on traffic)
Our day with Nicolas was an amazing experience. We have done winery tours before, but this was our first experience with Champagne. The production process is very different from typical wines and we learned a lot. Also, the history and interactions between the growers and champagne houses is interesting. We were picked up on time in Paris, then went to three houses. Mumm. The big one, is impressive. A quick stop at the Dom Perignon tomb/church. Then two mid size houses of J Chopin (w Lunch) and Don Caudron. I always enjoy visiting the mid size producers the best. Our group was 5 people in the van. The other guests were a hoot, which makes these tours great! Nicolas was on hand to answer all questions during the day, great guy. Drop off at Hotel De Ville is right on the metro, easy
This day trip was the highlight of our trip to Paris. Our guide, Aurelien, was great. The only problem we had all day was the Paris morning traffic, which got us to our first tour slightly behind schedule. But fresh croissants and our guide pointing out parts of the city added to our experience. And, I feel I need to touch on bad reviews about the size of the van. We had 7 on our tour plus our guide and we had ample space. Vehicles in Europe are smaller than US, so don’t go in expecting the size van you might be used to.
Aurelien gave us an overview of the champagne making process and the history of the region on our drive out (which is about 1.5 hrs) Our first tasting was at a large champagne house in Reims. After that we had time for a quick stop at the Reims cathedral before heading to our next stop, the abbey and burial place of Dom Perignon. And our guide took us to an amazing viewing spot of the vineyards and took pictures for us. Then off to lunch at the family estate. The food was perfect (and local) as were the pairings, which also included a liquor made from leftover parts of the champagne making process. Then the next stop took us to a cooperative champagne house in a town of just over 300 people. This stop was very interesting learning about how smaller producers are able to be sustainable.
And then it was back to Paris. The drop off is in central Paris by the Hotel de Ville (which while I’ve read bad reviews due to this, it is denoted in the description of the tour) The metro stop is just a block away and we were back to our hotel in no time.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day. Getting to see the countryside, learn the champagne process, and enjoy local foods made for a perfect experience.
We had such a wonderful experience a couple weeks ago: from the hotel pick-up (which was so important for me when booking) throughout the whole day, Lionel was such a joy. He was great with the knowledge he shared, but also knew when quiet time was needed in the car after the early morning start and then after all the champagne. I was happy he joined us for lunch too and our whole group all shared stories and get to know one another. I was also very appreciative of the lunch accommodations as one in our party didn’t eat pork.
We went to three different locations and had lovely tastings at each, as well as some of the local church sites. My favorite was the second location that had an igloo decorated for Christmas. The atmosphere added to our enjoyment, and I’m so glad we chose to spring for this experience.
This was one of the highlights of our trip! Cedric was a fabulous guide, so knowledgeable and kind. The champagne houses we visited were beautiful and so interesting. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!!
We took the Champagne tour and we’re beyond impressed with the experience. Our guide, Carlos, was very knowledgeable, kind, and safe on the roads. His expertise was much appreciated. We cannot recommend this tour enough. It is a must!
