Private tour in Loire
A dream day in the Loire Valley with Wine Passport! From the discovery of the Chambord or Chenonceau castle, to the picturesque views on the castles & the vineyards, the visit of at least one wine producer, the delicious lunch at the table of a winemaker, the transportation… Your private English speaking guide is also a wine expert and will make sure you enjoy your time in the Loire Valley, with your party only.
Want a well-spent day? What if you visited the Loire valley in a private tour? You will visit one of Europe’s most renowned castles, part of the Unesco world heritage, and get plenty of information about the diversity of the wines of the region.
In the morning, your guide will pick up your party at your hotel and drive you for about 2 hours heading south of Paris, towards the Loire valley, after having offered you fresh croissants.
As you enter the park of the Château de Chambord, your guide will tell you everything you should know about the history of the region.
An audioguided tour of the huge castle will reveal all the anecdotes about this impressive piece of architecture built more than 500 years ago by Francis 1st, King of France.
Upon personal preference and request, we can also take you to the amazing Chenonceau Castle, instead-off Chambord! Just ask for it when booking.
You will then enjoy a smooth drive following the river, during which you will see other wonderful castles such as Amboise (home of Leonardo da Vinci) or Blois, home of the kings of France during the Renaissance.
Lunch will take place at the table of a family winery where the owner will let you taste his favorite wines, paired with delicious food made with fresh produce from the region. He loves it when people ask him to visit his cellars!
Following the well deserved break, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the vineyards of Montlouis-Sur-Loire and Vouvray, home to world famous white wines. Depending on the weather, you will stop in the guide’s favourite spots, among the vines of Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc where he will share with you all the secrets of vine growing!
He will then take you to an estate producing world famous wines where you will visit their troglodyte cellars, harboring millions of bottles… And of course, you will finish the tour by tasting a wide variety of wines, from red wines to dry; sweet and even sparkling white wines.
Your guide will then safely drive you back to your hotel, in the early evening.
We greatly enjoyed having a private tour for this portion of our trip, and Alex was a fantastic tour guide. From picking us up at our hotel with breakfast and bottled water, to his experienced driving, we had a great trip outside of Paris. While at Chambord, he gave us an in-depth explanation of the history of the Chateau and answered all of our questions in a friendly manner. We had a fantastic lunch in a historical restaurant followed by an amazing wine tasting. Alex was familiar with the winery which allowed us to begin our tasting early, which we appreciated immensely. Alex also boasted a very impressive knowledge of wine. As a distributor and winery owner, he was able to educate us on French wine throughout the day and provided some fantastic recommendations for us to try while eating in Paris. The wines he suggested were absolutely fantastic! If you’re booking a trip of this style via Viator, ask for Alex. You won’t be disappointed!
BRILLIANT CHRISTOPHE (TIM) WAS AWSOME
The bad: Paris traffic. Everything else was great. Chateau Chambord has an awesome interactive experience and was a great visit. Bredif had an excellent cave, but middling wine. Great tour. Vignoble Alain Robert has excellent white wines.
The best part was the tour guide, Chris, whom we nicknamed, Tim. Very personable, knowledgeable, et helpful.
I would do this again. A fun time.
The tour was great and the fact that they don’t only focus on the most famous wineries is really enjoyable. Would recommend to everyone.
Victor was a great guide. We loved the visited vineyards, lunch was delightful Highly recommend this day trip, can’t say enough good things! Great tour company, they’ve made connections in the right places to offer a truly unique experience!
This trip is honestly one of my favorite memories of all time. Everything from the wine to the scenery was so beautiful. We were so well taken care of.
