    The next day, continue your journey with a guided tour of the charming old town of Sancerre.
    Afterwards, visit a renowned winery, where you’ll taste exceptional wines and explore the vineyard landscapes. During lunch, enjoy traditional French cuisine while taking in the breathtaking vineyard panoramas.

    Description day 1 - What's on in Champagne?

    Join us for this exceptional small-group tour from Paris to the Champagne region, birthplace of iconic sparkling wine.

    To begin with, we have selected the best places to visit, from renowned houses to charming boutique wineries. Throughout the day, relax and enjoy yourself as we guide you through a true Champagne experience. Your English-speaking guide will drive you through scenic vineyards and picturesque countryside roads. Along the journey, hear fascinating anecdotes and uncover the secrets behind Champagne’s enduring legacy. In this region, the soil, climate, and winemakers’ expertise unite to craft a drink loved worldwide, symbol of celebration and elegance across the world.

    Morning – Champagne the glamourous

    Your guide will pick you up at your hotel or apartment in the morning and offer you delicious freshly baked croissants while driving to Champagne (around 1h30).
    As soon as you arrive in the vineyards, you will be struck by the beauty of the landscape as you are given precious information about the history of the region.
    Your day will start in style, with a guided tour through the maze of cellars of one of the world’s biggest bubbles producers, like Champagne Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Mumm, Nicolas Feuillatte, Lanson, Mercier… Learn about their unique history and the production tasting their flagship cuvee with the house sommelier.

    Lunch – Local food & Champagne!

    After a short drive, and depending on our schedule, you will have the opportunity to explore the charming village of Hautvillers. There, you can visit its historic abbey, where over 300 years ago, Dom Pérignon served as a cellar master and played a pivotal role in the development of Champagne. During your visit, you will also learn more about this legendary figure and gain insight into how his innovations shaped both the style and global reputation of this iconic beverage.

    For lunch, settle at the table of a family-run intimate winery where you will enjoy a delicious 3 course meal of regional food, paired with different Champagnes from the house, as well as a local wine specialty, the Ratafia Champenois!

    Afternoon – Become a bubbles expert

    Your guide will take you to his favorite spot to enjoy a magnificent view over the vineyard. There, you can take postcard-worthy pictures, and have an introduction to vine growing ! Next, learn about all the specificities of the terroir in Champagne, and what is currently being done in the vines…
    Then, head to a boutique winery for your final stop of the day. By this point, you will practically be a bubbles expert ! Naturally, you will also enjoy several tastings of their finest champagne.
    Finally, after all these discoveries and emotions, your guide will drive you back to Paris and drop you in a central location in the late afternoon.

    Description day 2 - Beautiful Sancerre Region

    Spend an entire day in the Sancerre Region, home to one of France’s most renowned vineyard, taste and learn all about the amazing sub-regions and terroirs.
    Throughout this tour, enjoy a fully inclusive experience that will make you fall in love with the beauty of Sancerre and its neighbor appellations. Meanwhile, drive between rolling hillsides and stop to admire stunning vineyard panoramas. explore the variety of wines By the end, you will understand why this region captures the hearts of wine lovers.

     

    Morning – Sancerre, historical village

    Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning, for a scenic drive (approx. 2h30) to the Sancerre region while you enjoy delicious freshly baked croissants. Meanwhile, your wine-expert guide will share insights as you pass through the beautiful countryside, in the heart of the vineyards.
    Soon, you will arrive at the first visit. Learn all the basics about Sancerre wine and the history of the region, so you can start the day with a lot of knowledge. After this introduction, you will be ready to understand the difference between the Terres Blanches, Calcaires and Silex terroirs, and the impact they hold on the wine! Next, taste the first wines of the day and put into practice what you have just learned about the three Sancerre terroirs.

    Lunch – Wine and food pairing

    After this first visit, it’s time for lunch! But before that, you’ll have a chance to enjoy a magnificient view of the Sancerre vineyards and the hills full of grapes. This is the perfect time to learn about the process of viticulture.
    After this fun time, you’ll arrive at a family-run winery where you’ll enjoy a traditional French lunch with local specialities such as the famous Crottin de Chavignol and a wine pairing! This will be the perfect moment to be transported into the winemaker’s world.

     

    Afternoon – Discover the variety of wines

    To dive into the authentic secrets of Sancerre visit an intimate and small vineyard. There, discover the vinification cellar, the barrel cellar, the storage cellar, and much more behind the scenes!
    Next, it is time to taste wines beyond Sancerre from nearby, lesser known but remarkable appellations. Many Sancerre winemakers also produce Pouilly-Fumé, Côteau-du-Giennois or Menetou-Salon. Altough close in location, the wines are really different and interesting to taste!
    As the day ends, your guide will take you safely back to Paris, with your head full of memories of this unforgettable day in the Sancerre region. You’ll be dropped off in Central Paris in the late afternoon.

    This was definitely the highlight of our trip to France!! We spent two days in Champagne and Sancerre and it was so worth it. We had amazing wine and champagne, and discovered how to produce them, which was so interesting. Lunch for both days was just perfect and so yummy. And our guide made the whole experience even better, he was fun and super knowledgeable and we just learned so much!! We would definitely recommend this Champagne and Sancerre double tour while in Paris.
